font-family: verdana;">“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, ……..” I John 4:1 NIV

Some wisdom about spirits.

First, they are real. Some are good, some are evil. Good spirits are from God. Evil spirits are from the devil. The devil deploys evil spirits to deceive us and lead us away from God and into sin. Sin leads to eternal hell instead of eternity in Heaven. This is the mission of the devil, to have us in eternal hell with him. Evil spirits often come disguised in a “soft” deception. Often too, laced with what appears to be complete innocence. Thus the message in 1st John chapter 4, verse one. Check out that seemingly innocent movie, game, picture, talk, song, food, drink, fun, activities …. And well, the list goes on! Not that there is evil in all things, but we must be prepared to determine if we are being tricked into thinking evil is good. It is very easy to get “tricked up” if we do not pay attention. It just comes down to paying attention to what we are doing by giving thoughtfulness to our actions instead of living for the moment.

Pray for wisdom, that you may discern evil from good and the strength to do good.

Get Wisdom – Get Understanding!
